BLANK is an effect that uses one of those decks tucked away in your magic drawers.
EFFECT:
Spectator is shown a deck of cards and asked if they believe in precognition?
The deck is given a couple of cuts and the spectator is asked to place their hands
behind their back and create a random 2 digit number.
As this is happening the performer writes down a prediction and places this in full view on the table.
The spectator show there freely thought of number and the cards are dealt down to that number.
The card at that number is turned over and shown to match the performers
prediction!
One last thing, the deck is then turned over and spread to show all the cards are
BLANK!

ZILCH is something I would expect from that crazy head of Rus, This is clever.
I set Zilch up and took it long with me to a gig last night at one of my residency’s, as I feel these are the best places to try new material out ( small, quiet environments’ ) this worked very well indeed, and is simple to perform.
Envison is the one that seemed to have that WOW factor, Rus mentions 3 variations of the zilch effect, all of them are hard hitters. Catch also is amazingly fun to perform as you get this great build up to a revelation that seems insane.
The material is worth more than the £10 I payed for it.
Overall I am very happy with my purchase as with all of Rus’s work.

I went and tested it out on my girlfriend. Who doesn’t like magic and doesn’t really play along with it. I performed it and it absolutely FLOORED her. The best thing, which makes it for me was when she said, and I quote “But I changed my mind and there’s no way you could’ve know what I was thinking, seriously now!” To even get a false reaction from her is good but to get this, has made my day.
The booklet is well written, concise but doesn’t cut corners and has links that take you straight to youtube to see a live performance built in to the eBook. Rus also covers multiple handling, including impromptu, brief or advanced set ups (all of which are simple to do) and lastly, Russ covers 7 types of really strong reveals.

The ebook covers everything from performance to set up to alternative handlings , this includes a method where you can borrow a deck , there is also a method where the spectator can shuffle the deck before cutting. Well, this is good. Rus gives a lot of explanations, details, youtube links with some additional info (not by him, but for some reference on the moves, etc.) on how to perform this effect well and in great detail. I like the way Rus explains his effect, it is very easy and clear to follow, multiple pictures, etc. His technique on how to perform the effect for magicians or people who want to shuffle the deck is REALLY GOOD. The deck can indeed be shuffled if you want (after a very short set-up).

PIP MY RIDE – A clean and visual trick, plays very strongly – it brilliantly makes use of what is usually used as a visual colour change but as a quick card switch that to the spectator’s mind never happens, the reveal is slow, visual and powerful.
CONTAC – Beautifully constructed torn corner trick, it is set up very sneakily such that spectator is thoroughly unimpressed one second and tearing their hair out with confusion and denial the next.
BOXCHANGE – One of the few tricks that requires set-up but hardly any at all and it’s worth it to do this killer slow motion change that finishes clean.
JITTERBOX – Terrific application of the above change.
ADMISSION – It’s absolutely brilliant, a really beautiful card switch but if you can’t back palm well then you’ll struggle but the back palm is worth learning well just for this switch!
DUMP – One of our favourite new card switches, very commercial, very usable – will fall into most working magicians working routines straight away.

A prediction is made and untouched from start to finish. The spectator is asked to think of a card. All done in their own mind without the use of any decks or extra props. They then change their mind so it is even more impossible for you to know their thoughts. After making a few decisions and having one card in mind they name the chosen card. You reach into your wallet to show a single card and that your prediction is correct.

Hospitality in a can – You pour the complete contents of a can into a glass; the can is now empty. You then place a straw inside the can, and take a sip, just to make sure. In fact, the can is not empty, it now contains a completely different liquid! Pour this ‘new’ liquid into a glass to amaze spectators.
BONUS EFFECT:
Cocktail – You turn a cocktail shaker upside down to show that it is empty. Place the lid on the shaker and start to shake it as you would if you were mixing a cocktail. You then take the cap off and start pouring two glasses of cocktail.

My Deceptive View….
Hospitality for me is a nice tidy effect, Max and Magic Tao have done a great job on the dvd and gimmick production, the effect itself is something i would use in the bars and restaurants, as this would flow well in this enviroment. The explanations on the dvd are clear and easy to follow and Max’s personality helps this dvd flow.
I could see many restaurant workers using this as a great little opener or closer.
The bonus effect on the dvd which is a cocktail effect also plays really well and is also something i could see myself using at my next cocktail event.
Overall this is a great little effect and definatly something i would use.
